Who We Are
How it all began:
Crew Homeschool Academy was formed by three homeschooling moms!
A certified teacher and homeschooling mom, Kylie Sikhakhane, decided to leave the public school circuit after 17 years (where she was awarded teacher of the year) to provide private tutoring while educating her own 6 children. After colliding with another mom, who LOVED the difference Kylie was making in her own children, they combined their efforts with a third mom who saw the vision and need for this type of homeschooling support in the Southshore area. Together with other initial founding families, they decided on a name. The Crew Homeschool Academy. Crew is a great word to define who we are... we are a group of families working together as a team to teach and equip our children to navigate life, heading Northward, as if on a ship following a divine destination!
We began our adventure at a coastal home where Kylie provided Reading, Writing and Math classes. We quickly outgrew this location by the second semester of that same school year and now meet with 35 students at The Life Church - Apollo Beach, who graciously opened the doors to our academy.
In just our second year, we are expanding to offer classes at THREE locations to serve the homeschool community in the Southshore area.
